Applied Social Research Institute of Cambodia (ASRIC) is guided by its mission to seek social peace and health for Cambodians affected directly and indirectly by the Khmer Rouge regime. Whether or not firsthand survivors of the genocide (1975-1979) and regardless of where they live, all Cambodians are scarred psycho-emotionally, physically, and economically by Cambodia's tumultuous history and the current social chaos and culture of impunity in their homeland. ASRIC focuses on increasing the cultural and individual strengths of the Cambodian population while helping to overcome the lingering negative effects of the Khmer Rouge genocide. ASRIC is a non-profit legally registered 501(c3) organization founded by Leakhena Nou, a medical sociologist and an A/P/A Institute Visiting Scholar.
